IRITIS
Iritis is an inflammation of the iris (the colored part of the eye).  It is a painful condition that manifests with redness and light sensitivity.  It is usually rather sudden in onset and recurrent.  It has been linked to some systemic conditions including but not limited to:  ankylosing spondylitis, Behcet's Disease, inflammatory bowl disease, Lyme disease, herpes simplex and zoster, Reiter's Syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, sarcoidosis, toxoplasmosis, syphilis, tuberculosis, and several others.
