MACULAR DEGENERATION
Macular Degeneration is a condition where part of the retina or macula is compromised. Age Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD) is the leading cause of blindness in the elderly. As it advances it clouds, distorts and "blanks out" the central vision.  There are two categories of ARMD:  dry and wet.  Although they are progressing with treatment options, at this time there is no cure for macular degeneration.

You can test yourself for macular degeneration by using an Amsler Grid, looking for any distortions in the horizontal and vertical lines.
